Introduced at BaselWorld 2019, this Zenith Defy El Primero 21 has a carbon case in 44mm. The openworked dial features hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o'clock, a 1/100th of a second chronograph and a chronograph power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock. This model is powered by a spectacular self-winding in-house movement, El Primero 9020. Like the Defy 21 it has two separate escapements - one for the chronograph and one for the regular timekeeping. But with this version both executed as tourbillon mechanisms. The tourbillon cage for timekeeping escapement rotates once every minute, while the one for the chronograph rotates once every five seconds. The movement can be viewed through the open case back. The watch is presented on a rubber strap with cordura effect.
