The Zenith Chronomaster Sport Skeleton presents the legendary El Primero chronograph in a striking openworked design, here crafted in an 18-carat rose gold case. The smoked sapphire dial gradually fades from black at the edge to transparent in the center, revealing the skeletonized architecture of the movement while maintaining the distinctive Chronomaster aesthetic.
At its heart beats the El Primero 3600 SK, a modern evolution of the iconic high-frequency chronograph movement first introduced by Zenith in 1969. Operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz), the movement enables the chronograph to measure time with an accuracy of 1/10th of a second. Unlike conventional chronographs, the central chronograph seconds hand completes one full rotation every ten seconds, allowing the tenth-of-a-second scale on the bezel to be read instantly.
The skeletonized construction highlights the technical architecture of the movement while preserving its chronometric performance. Visible through both the dial and sapphire caseback are key elements such as the column wheel, horizontal clutch and silicon escape wheel, designed to enhance durability and precision. Despite its high-frequency operation, the automatic movement offers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours and features a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting.
The 41mm case in 18-carat rose gold combines brushed and polished finishes, paired with a scratch-resistant black ceramic bezel that allows precise reading of the 1/10th-of-a-second chronograph scale. The smoked sapphire dial features Zenith’s signature overlapping chronograph counters in three tones, a recognizable reference to the original El Primero chronographs.
This reference is fitted on a black rubber strap with a rose gold folding clasp, reinforcing the sporty yet refined character of the Chronomaster Sport while ensuring comfort and durability.
Inside beats the El Primero 3600 SK automatic chronograph movement — a contemporary evolution of one of the most important chronograph calibres in modern watchmaking.
