The Ben Joseph Family has been using the trade name Ace since 1975. The Ace Jewelers Group includes one of the oldest Jeweler stores of Amsterdam: Ace & Spyer, on the corner of the Flower Market, Koningsplein. Moreover, the location of Ace & Dik is in the Museum District (Van Baerlestraat) and has been located there for over 80 years. Ace was founded by the Ben-Joseph family and the meaning of the word Ace is ‘being the best in what you do’. In our Ace Jewelers boutique perfection is, hence, strived for at all times. Perfection is achieved through the quality of products, the service, the store (safety and interior design), the collections and the craftsmanship.
Ace & Dik Jewelers
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Family Dik started a leading fashion Maison in The Leidsestraat and then moved to the Van Baerlestraat in the 1970s. In 2003, The Ben Joseph family became the proud owners. On the 9th of September 2015, Ace & Dik proudly reopened their doors to the newly renovated boutique.
The design of the new boutique is the leading work of architect Kees Marcelis at studiokeesmarcelis. The interior has been exclusively selected and supplied by the leading EDHA Interiors, located around the corner from Ace & Dik Jewelers. The craftsmen at FIJRI Interiors have been responsible for every fine detail.
The extensive renovations have resulted in considerably more space, a more modern and warm atmosphere. Spacious and bright showcases ensure that the luxury watch and jewelry brands are presented in the best possible light. Furthermore, several exclusive watch brands such as Bulgari, Parmigiani Fleurier, Omega, TAG Heuer, Breitling and Longines are showcased in special shop-in-shop displays creating the brands experience in Ace’s own signature environment.
Ace & Spyer Jewelers
Ace & Spyer Jewelers is officially the oldest Jeweler store in Amsterdam. Documents found in the official archives of the City of Amsterdam indicate that Mr. Samuel Spyer incorporated his jewelry business located at Kalverstraat 201 in the heart of Amsterdam on April 27th, 1729 and named the business S. Spyer. Since the 1930s the jewelry store has been located at the current location: a magnificent Art Deco building that was designated a special monumental building by the government in 2001.
During the renovation of the building in 1998 the store was modernized and renovated, without affecting the harmony of the beautiful historical building of the store. In the spring of 2005 the store was restyled and now suited the latest safety requirements for a luxurious jewelry store.
In 2013 a new chapter was added to the rich history of the oldest jewelry boutique in Amsterdam. Ace & Spyer jewelers was re-launched with a complete new and modern look, while keeping the historic features of the monumental building in place. The interior has been hand drawn by Mr. David Ben Joseph himself with assistance of his daughter-in-law Aviva Ben Joseph (freelance interior designer) and the renowned Dutch designers of Edha Interiors.
The larged windows of Ace & Spyer add to the spacious and luxurious environment in which the premium watch and jewelry brands are displayed. In this unique environment the Swiss brands Breitling, IWC, Omega, TAG Heuer, Longines and Breitling for Bentley, have their own exclusive Shop-in-Shop displays.
As soon as you ring the bell you will be welcomed into a modern store with class and style.
In 2019 Ace & Spyer embarked on a new journey. The store is now transformed into a concept store, thus letting go of high end watches & jewelry but giving space for trendy jewelry & watches.
