The Raketa Malevich Cross is a stunning collaboration between the Raketa Watch Factory and the esteemed Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, which houses the complete geometric cycle of Kazimir Malevich, including his iconic Black Cross.
For Malevich, the cross symbolized the most intricate form within his geometric series. The intersecting vertical and horizontal lines of the cross represent the fusion of active and passive elements, symbolizing the unity of spiritual and earthly realms. Malevich viewed the cross — along with the square and circle — as a universal symbol, embodying the essence of the cosmos. This concept resonates deeply with Raketa's own connection to the universe and its portrayal in both timekeeping and art.
The dial of the Malevich Cross is crafted from genuine semi-precious stones, meticulously chosen for their visual harmony with Malevich’s famous painting. The design is minimalist in both color and form, offering a canvas for limitless interpretations, much like Malevich’s abstract art itself.
At the heart of the timepiece lies a Raketa-made mechanical movement, produced entirely at the Raketa Watch Factory in St. Petersburg. The movement is intricately decorated by the Factory’s skilled artisans, with Malevich's full geometric cycle printed on the oscillating weight, adding a unique artistic touch.
The Raketa Malevich Cross is a limited edition, with only 500 pieces available, making it a rare and collectible work of art that brings together the worlds of timekeeping, Russian heritage, and avant-garde design.
