The MING 29.01 Midnight reimagines the bold design of the original 29.01 Worldtimer with a darker, more understated aesthetic. Limited to just 25 pieces, this stealthy edition is designed for those who appreciate subtlety and sophistication in equal measure.
Crafted from grade 5 titanium with a DLC coating, the 40mm case features Ming’s signature flying blade lugs, seamlessly integrated with the caseback to create a continuous, sculpted silhouette. The front crystal is a deep box sapphire, serving as both crystal and bezel in a single, uninterrupted curve.
The dial employs a rotating metallic 24-hour disc, set against two levels of sapphire with ceramic Super-LumiNova X1. Cities are arranged across two tiers, each chosen for its intrigue and nocturnal appeal, from New York to Pago Pago. The luminous indices, hands, and orange numerals ensure optimal legibility, even in the dark.
Powering the 29.01 Midnight is the Caliber ASE 222, a bespoke automatic microrotor movement by Schwarz-Etienne. The redesigned bridges, finished in 5N rose gold with diamond-cut anglage, provide a visual contrast to the darker exterior. The skeletonized barrel offers a glimpse of the power reserve, while the enlarged tungsten microrotor features a fluid, organic shape for improved winding efficiency.
The watch is paired with a black FKM rubber strap and a matching DLC flying blade buckle, with a second strap option available for further customization.
