The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Moonphase Chronograph 44.25mm Blue Side of the Moon 304.93.44.52.03.001 is probably the Speedmaster with the longest name. It is also one of the most elaborate (and eccentric) in the collection, featuring near-all of Omega's latest innovations wrapped up in an all-blue ceramic package.
The Omega Speedmaster Blue Side of the Moon (for short) was introduced at BaselWorld 2017. Though not in precious metal it is probably THE flagship model Speedmaster, featuring near-all of Omega's latest tech and innovations. It features a blue ceramic case with blue ceramic pushers, blue ceramic crown, and blue ceramic bezel ring with Liquidmetal tachymeter scale. Not a fan of blue? Best stay away - the dial is made of blue ceramic too. Even the moonphase disc is made of this high-tech material. A neat detail are the moons; applied via the Liquidmetal process, one depicts the far side and the other the near side. FratelloWatches has some neat close-ups.
Inside is ticking Omega's caliber 9904, a METAS-certified self-winding, column-wheel operated chronograph that is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. It features a silicon balance-spring and 2 barrels mounted in series. The latter provide it with a comfortable power reserve of 60 hours.
These pictures with did for our Pride Amsterdam theme, and as such we fitted it with bright & festive rubber NATO straps from our own collection.
