Watches with blue dials have been around for decades, but for the last couple of years they've been more popular then ever with no signs of slowing down. In the post below I've selected a few that I think are worth a closer look.
On a side note, writing this intro got me thinking on who actually did the first blue dial - that'd be a cool bit of trivia right? If I ever find out I'll make sure to let you know. Anyway let's go. Cool watches with blue dials!
TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 CV201AR.BA0715
The TAG Heuer Carrera collection is vast, very vast. There's so many different movements, case sizes, dial variations, you name it. It can be confusing at times, but don't worry - I'm here to help. The one to have is the CV201AR.BA0715. It's sort of retro, but done in a modern style. One of the best Carrera's in the current line-up. We have it available right here.
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M 126.96.36.199.03.002
The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 188.8.131.52.03.002 has a dial in a cool shade of blue, which is highlighted by baby blue accents. The grey rubber strap finishes off the undercooled look. Check it out here.
Omega Speedmaster Blue Side of the Moon 304.93.44.52.03.001
Say you like blue as much as you like the Omega brand, but you're not in to subtle statements. Don't worry - I've got you covered. The Speedmaster Blue Side of the Moon 304.93.44.52.03.001 is overwhelmingly BLUE. Blue case, blue dial, blue strap, blue clasp, blue crown and blue pushers. It's ALL BLUE. BLUE BLUE BLUE. We have it in our eBoutique right here.
Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 01 754 7741 4065-07 5 20 63
Greyish blue, petrol blue, old blue? I'm not entirely sure. This Big Crown Pointer Date is a looker though! I like the choice of strap too - it goes very well with the vintage look IMHO. Ask us about the details!
NOMOS Club Neomatik Siren Blue
NOMOS says it's Siren Blue. I'd love to call it Smurf Blue but our intern Elise does not agree. In any case this little (36mm) Club packs quite the punch, including an in-house self-winding movement. Find it here.
IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Laureus
More austere in terms of looks is the IWC Mark XVIII Laureus, which pairs a black ceramic case with a deep blue dial with sunburst finish. It is the twelfth IWC made to benefit the Laureus foundation - and each of them had this signature blue dial. Check it out here.
Bell & Ross BR V2-92 Aeronavale
Bell & Ross pairs bleu (that's French for blue) with gold, inspired by dress uniforms worn by French Naval Aviation officers. The result is a lush take on the classic pilot's watch. The BR V2-92 Aeronavale is the simple time+date model, while there is also a version with chronograph.
More blue? No problem!
