On May 1st we announced the addition of Zenith to our stable of watch brands. In this post I'll try and explain the current state of the collection.
Zenith Defy - The Future of Swiss Watchmaking
The Defy family holds Zenith's most avant-garde and sporty designs. The cases are masculine and angular - they're thoroughly modern sports watches. In the last two years the Defy has also served as the collection to debut Zenith's latest tech, like the El Primero 21 (21 for 21st century) with its second hand that rotates once per second, and the insane Defy Lab with its monolithic silicon oscillator that does away with the anchor, hairspring and balance wheel.
Zenith Chronomaster - Eternity on your Wrist
The Chronomaster family is directly inspired by the original 1969 El Primero. The cases are sporty yet classic, with a signature wide bevel on the lugs that adds a refined touch. There's the classic dial with three different colors for the sub dials, or various levels of openness.
Zenith Elite - Less is More
The Elite family features the most dressy of Zenith's watches. The dials are clean and pure; the curves of the case elegant and gentle. Even when fitted with complications such as a chronograph or moonphase the look remains decidedly tranquil.
Zenith Pilot - Retro Modern Engine
As indicated by the name, the Zenith Pilot family consists of pilot's watches inspired by various episodes from the brand's rich past. The Type 20 models find their roots in a cockpit clock bearing the same designation paired with a slight dose of one of the brand's earliest pilot's wristwatches, while the Tipo CP-2 has a forefather in the Tipo CP-2 'A. Cairelli' from the 1960's.
Zenith is available at Ace & Spyer at the Koningsplein 1 in Amsterdam, and online in the Ace Jewelers eBoutique.
