Bangles date back thousands of years, and are never going to go out of style. We produced truly classic bangles for our own brand Ace Fine Jewelry. Bangles can be worn every single day; a classic piece of jewelry that will be in style for thousands of years to come.
Bangles are very much collector items, one can never have too many bangles. The style of layering and stacking bangles dates back thousands of years. In the 1970's, archaeologists discovered a statue of a dancing girl wearing bangles in the ancient civilization of Mohenjo-Daro. Moenjo-Daro is one of the worlds oldest cities, located in present day Pakistan. The statue depicts a young woman who is nude apart from the bangles stacked all the way up her left arm. This statue dates back to approximately 2500 B.C.
Of course bangles also play a very important role in Indian culture, too. The word bangle was derived from the Hindu translation of 'bangri'. Bangri in Sanskrit means the object used to adorn the arm. Today, bangles still play a very important role in an Indian wedding. Brides will wear many bangles on their arm on their big day, as well as after to continue to flaunt their status as a newly wedded bride.
The oldest discovery of a bangle ever found, was this piece of a bangle made from Chlorite. This was discovered in a Siberian cave in 2008. While scientists and researchers are still doing tests to find out how old this artifact is, they are suggesting that is at least 50,000 years old. This means that this artifact is the oldest piece of evidence that we have about the human species adorning their body, as well as the technology and tools that were around at that time.
While it is difficult to truly know exactly where the bangle originated, discoveries by archaeologists have helped us put together the puzzle pieces. The Ace Fine Jewelry Classics Bangles are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. We produce the bangles in either an oval or rectangular form. The bangles can be made in a variety of circumferences to ensure the perfect fit. These bangles are available in rose, white or yellow gold.
