Introducing the 2023 TUDOR x Alinghi Red Bull Racing

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing watches are new for 2023! Thse two new models celebrate the partnership between TUDOR and the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team - the Swiss challenger for the 2024 America's Cup. Dating back to 1851, the Auld Mug is the oldest international sporting trophy. It's regarded as sailing's highest honors, and the upcoming edition will be take place between August and October 2024 in Barcelona. The current holders of the America’s Cup are Emirates Team New Zealand representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. Having won the previous 2021 edition, they're Defender of the trophy, which means they're automatically entitled to race in the final match. The Challengers on the other hand will undertake a series to find the top yacht to take on the New Zealand team. Besides the team we're rooting for, Alinghi Red Bull Racing from Switzerland, these include Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli from Italy, American Magic New York Yacht Club from the USA and K-Challenge from France, plus INEOS Britannia. The latter, hailing from the UK, serves as as the Challenger of Record.

But before we digress, let's talk watches! Today we're of course excited to introduce two brand new Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing models: a chronograph and a time-only watch inspired by yacht racing. Both watches have a case in matte black carbon composite, with the FXD fixed strap bars. The bezels are titanium, with a matte black carbon composite bezel insert. The chronograph is powered by caliber MT5813; the time-only model has caliber MT5602 under the hood. Both have dials finished in Alinghi Red Bull Racing Team Blue with a red-tipped second hand, but the Chronograph model features red accents around the counters to further hint at the aesthetics of the AC75, namely the red stripes on the hull. On the 45° angled rehaut, between 10 and 2, a subtle “Alinghi Red Bull Racing” mention overarches the dial’s layout.

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing are fitted with a single-piece fabric strap. Like other Tudor fabric straps, this is woven in France on 19th century Jacquard looms by the Julien Faure company in the St-Etienne region. Made up of a 22 mm “Team Blue” jacquard-woven ribbon with red accents and a titanium “D” buckle with a self-gripping fastening system, it adapts to different wrist sizes and is very comfortable to wear.
