Introducing the 2022 TUDOR Pelagos 39
The TUDOR Pelagos 39 is a new take on the Pelagos, the brand's family of high-tech and high-spec dive watches.
The TUDOR Pelagos 39 aims to bridge the gap between technical diving and urban sophistication. Where other Pelagos models perpetuate a purely technical aquatic heritage with functions specific to highly specialised and relatively niche professional dives, this new watch offers a more versatile and sophisticated look.
The TUDOR Pelagos 39mm has a compact titanium case with a diameter of 39mm - down from 42mm for the original Pelagos. Just like its siblings, the case is entirely satin-brushed. This matte look contrast with the dial and ceramic bezel insert, which both have a sunray satin finish. The dial also has applied hour markers, which are made of monobloc luminescent ceramic composite - a feature first seen on the Black Bay Pro. The conical flange with the minute track is bead-blasted. Last but not least, the Pelagos name at 6:00 is cherry red, disrupting the otherwise monochrome palette.
The TUDOR Pelagos 39 is delivered with both a bracelet as well as a rubber strap. The former is satin-brushed titanium just like the case, and features the much-appreciated T-fit clasp for rapid length adjustment. This nifty feature allows the wearer to quickly adjust the length of the bracelet in 5 positions over a total of 8mm, requiring no tools. There is also a 25mm bracelet extension to allow the watch to be worn over a wetsuit. The additional rubber strap is fitted with a titanium pin buckle, and attaches to the case with titanium end links.
The TUDOR Pelagos 39 is powered by caliber MT5400, a COSC-certified, self-winding movement with a power reserve of 70 hours.
