The Breitling Chronomat was thoroughly revised in 2020. With this new generation of the Chronomat, Breitling brought back a number of signature elements that got watered-down in the 30+ years since the release of the 1984 original. A redesigned case, more pronounced rider tabs, and of course the return of the decidedly unique Rouleaux bracelet. The 2020 Breitling Chronomat felt fresh yet familiar.
For 2021, the collection is expanded with the introduction of the Breitling Super Chronomat B01 44. So, what's new? The Breitling Super Chronomat is a bigger and bolder take on the 2020 Chronomat. The case is enlarged to 44mm (+2mm). A high-tech touch is added in the form ceramics, used on the bezel, rider tabs, crown and pushers. Inside ticks the brand's caliber B01, an in-house movement with column-wheel actuated chronograph and a power reserve of a healthy 70 hours.
The Breitling Super Chronomat is available in stainless steel with either a black or blue dial, or full 18k red gold in combination with a brown dial. It can be fitted with either a Rouleaux bracelet, or an entirely new rubber Roulaux strap matching the dial. And remember the UTC module? The UTC module is an extra watch head that's added between the case and the bracelet (or strap). It was a signature add-on in Breitling's collection for many year, something truly unique. But just as was the fate of the Rouleaux bracelet, the UTC module slowly faded from memory, though a digital version was available until not too long ago. But before we digress - the UTC is finally back!
