The NOMOS Metro is easily one of the most beloved watches in the NOMOS collection. To put it mildly, the design -by Berlin-based Mark Braun- is a work of art. Deceivingly simple, yet perfectly balanced. In fact, it's astonishing how these clean-cut lines can pack this much character.
For 2021, NOMOS outfits the Metro with a larger case of 40.5mm, which houses the brand's caliber DUW 6101 movement. This movement was designed from the ground up by NOMOS. It's not only large, but at 3.6mm also very thin, thanks to it's clever construction. The date can be set both forward and backward -a much appreciated feature- and it is fitted with the NOMOS spring system escapement, which is also entirely in-house.
For the Metro Neomatik 41 Update, NOMOS returns to the 'ring date' system as first seen in the Tangente Update of 2018. Two neon orange markers frame the current date - a fun, yet entirely functional way of displaying the date. The resulting look is a bit more instrumental than other Metro models, bringing to mind gauges and precision instruments. The expertly matched grey textile strap underscores this.
What remains are the perfectly round case with its signature wire-style lugs, the domed sapphire crystal, the knurled crown, and the 'Empire State Building' minute and hour hand. The NOMOS Metro Neomatik 41 Update is one of our favorite Metro models yet!
