PRESS RELEASE: NOMOS Glashütte and Ace Jewelers introduce the Zürich Weltzeit Amsterdam, a special watch limited to just 25 pieces worldwide.
Friday, November 1st 2019 – Ace Jewelers has partnered with manufacturer NOMOS Glashütte to launch a limited edition watch dedicated to the city of Amsterdam: the Zürich Weltzeit Amsterdam. The watch is limited to 25 pieces and exclusively available at Ace Jewelers boutique and via www.AceJewelers.com.
Ace x NOMOS Glashütte Zürich Weltzeit Amsterdam
Ace Jewelers and NOMOS Glashütte have teamed up for the third time to create a limited edition wristwatch. It’s based on the Zürich Weltzeit, a watch that allows its wearer to jump between 24 time zones at the push of a button, whilst keeping track of time back home through a 24-hour disc at 3 o’clock. A watch fit for globetrotters and watch collectors alike.
The regular production Zürich Weltzeit is available with either a silver or a blue dial, but for the Amsterdam edition Ace and NOMOS went with timeless matte black. GMT+1 is represented by AMSTERDAM rather than BERLIN, while the home icon normally found at 3 finds itself replaced by a little Amsterdam flag. The crown is signed with the three Amsterdam crosses in lieu of the NOMOS found on the standard production model. Only 25 pieces will be made.
Alon Ben Joseph, CEO of Ace Jewelers says: "When we partnered up with NOMOS a few years back, the Zürich Weltzeit was the watch I bought myself to celebrate. The combination of clean looks and complicated innards spoke to me from the moment it was released. Now we added a bit of the Amsterdam Ace flavor to this spectacular watch. An immense honor ”.
The Zürich Weltzeit Amsterdam is powered by NOMOS’ caliber DUW 5201. This self-winding movement is manufactured in-house and features a power reserve of 42 hours. Its Glashütte-style finishing can be admired via the see-through case back. The NOMOS Zürich Weltzeit is fitted with a black Shell Cordovan strap and delivered with an additional Ace Compassionate Luxury leather-free watch strap.
Nomos was founded in 1990 by Roland Schwertner. Nomos is best known for its clean designs and superb mechanical movements, which come at an accessible price point. Their very own design agency, Berlinerblau takes its inspiration from the influential design movements like Deutscher Werkbund and the famed Bauhaus school.
