The J.N. Shapiro Resurgence Zirconium / Grey gives the collection a darker, more material-driven character. Made to order in California, it combines a zirconium case with a grey multi-layered, engine-turned dial, bringing a restrained tone to Shapiro’s detailed approach to American watchmaking.
Each dial layer is engine-turned separately, with patterns including barleycorn, moiré and J.N. Shapiro’s signature Infinity Weave. The numerals are individually machined and polished, while the 38mm case features a fully engine-turned mid-case inspired by the finest American pocket watches. Zirconium is rarely used for watch cases and gives this version its own presence: darker than steel, with a subtle metallic depth and a strong, corrosion-resistant character. Specially designed detachable lugs allow the barleycorn guilloché to continue uninterrupted around the case.
Inside, there is the option of three variations of J.N. Shapiro’s in-house movement. Each is hand-finished with damaskeening, pronounced anglage, polished internal angles and rose-gold wheels with rounded spokes. Apart from jewels and springs, every component is made and finished in the J.N. Shapiro workshop.
The Resurgence is not a standard production watch. Each example is built individually to specification, with a deposit of one-third due at order placement and the remaining two-thirds due before delivery.
